We've recently done a lot of updating on the website as our 50th Reunion nears.
On the home page, we're asking you to confirm your attendance if you would like a tour of the high school on Saturday morning, October 6. We're working with the new high school principal to confirm details. There's also a boy's volleyball game at the school that morning and you're welcome to stay and see the kids play. (Football this weekend is an away game.)
Also on the home page, we've provided you with a button that will take you to a list of confirmed attendees. Many of you have asked to see the list so you can find old friends and classmates, and we have delivered. We could very well have more than 100 people at this milestone event for our class.
On the evening of the Reunion, you'll receive a name tag at check-in that displays your yearbook picture. Let's see how many of us look the same as we did at 17!
Beyond the Reunion evening itself, you may want to mingle with some of your classmates at other venues, so we've provided you with a new "Things to Do" page. A bunch of people expect to get together at Eddie's Pizza in New Hyde Park on Friday evening or Sunday. Weather permitting, we've reserved a picnic area at Sands Point Preserve for Sunday, October 7 if you want to pick up some provisions and spend additional time with your favorite classmates. We've also listed scads of good restaurants in the area for you to explore, and there are way more if you venture into Port Washington. And if at any time over the weekend, you crave ice cream, pastries, a shot of booze, a glass of good wine, or some entertainment, culture, history or shopping, we've given you a bunch of ideas to get you started.
If there are any thoughts you would like to share with us before October 6, by all means do so. Shoot us an e-mail at [email protected] and we'll respond as soon as we can.
Cheers!
