If you've ever thought of revisiting the spot at Herricks where you dropped your first tray in the cafeteria or had your first kiss, this is your chance to sign up for a tour of our alma mater. The new high school principal, Joan Keegan, is offering us several options below for interaction with the school. Please send us an e-mail at [email protected] so that we can hear your preference and give Ms. Keegan an accurate headcount.
Here are the options:
1. We can receive a tour of the high school on Friday, October 5, around 4:30 p.m. or Saturday morning, October 6, around 10 a.m.
2. If we want to add any interaction with students, alumni are welcome to attend a boys soccer or girl's volleyball game on Friday, the 5th, both at 4:30 p.m. There is a varsity volleyball match scheduled at the high school on Saturday at 10.
She informs us that the football team is playing an away game that weekend and part of the athletic fields may still be under renovation in October.
Regarding a possible class gift, we still need to see what, if any, funds will be left over from the proceeds of the reunion after all expenses are paid. If there is any surplus, we would want to get some feedback as to whether it should be held in the bank for a 55th reunion or donated to the school in some form.
If any of our alumni feel strongly that we should establish a separate fund for perhaps a larger class gift, please let us know at the e-mail address above.
Finally, if you plan to attend the reunion, please send in your check today! Slightly more than half of everyone who pledged to attend has sent in their money. We need a full accounting of paid attendees to give to the hotel and it won't be possible to accept payment at the door.
Thanks, and see you there on the 6th!
